Latvia Expels Russian Diplomat

Latvia announced the expelling of a Russian diplomat accusing him for trying to access NATO-labelled secrets. It is the first time that the former Soviet republic has expelled a diplomat since it regained independence in 1991. The three Baltic states - Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia - joined NATO late last month and are among the 10 newcomers into the EU. Russia has eyed their NATO membership as a direct threat for its national security.
