Strong Quake Jolts East Japan

A strong earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit Ibaraki and Tochigi prefectures in eastern Japan. According to Japanese Meteorological Agency, the quake, which occurred at around 08:02 p.m. was strongly felt in Tokyo and its nearby Miyagi, Fukushima, Saitama and Chiba prefectures. There were a few minor injuries, but no immediate reports of serious damages from the quake. Neither tsunami warnings have been issued.
