Car Bomb Explodes Near US Patrol in Iraq

A car bomb exploded near a US military patrol north of Baghdad today, wounding several people. One Iraqi civilian was wounded in the blast. Witnesses claimed that a car parked on the side of the street in Al-Aswad, a village just north of Baquba, exploded as American soldiers were passing by. It did not appear to be a suicide attack. Police said two US vehicles were damaged and several soldiers wounded. The US military in Baghdad had no immediate confirmation of the incident.
