Kerry Highlights Economic Agenda

Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry unveiled Friday his economic plan. His proposal aimed to end an estimated USD 12 B annually in corporate tax relief, is likely to stir stiff opposition from some of America's largest multinational companies. Kerry has repeatedly attacked those companies for reaping tax benefits while shipping US jobs overseas. Speaking at Wayne State University in Detroit, Kerry said his corporate tax proposal would create 10 million jobs during the first four years of his administration. The jobs pledge and the corporate tax changes were meant to highlight economic issues where polls consistently have shown President Bush is vulnerable.
