An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter rocked a region in eastern Turkey overnight, killing at least 9 people and injuring dozens more. Serious damage was reported in three provinces and near the town of Erzurum. Askale county was the epicenter of the quake. Fifty-one aftershocks were felt in the wake of the earthquake.
