In a massive gun ship attack by helicopters Israeli army killed Shaikh Ahmad Yasin, prominent Hamas leader, as he left a mosque after dawn. Three loud explosions were heard early Monday morning leaving the Hamas leader soaked with blood in his wheelchair. At least six other people died in the attack including two of Yasin's bodyguards, and 10 more were wounded. Thousands of Palestinians poured into the streets and fighters fired into the air. Palestinian Authority officials condemned the attack.
