The International express transport TNT company is the first company in Bulgaria to be awarded with the internationally acknowledged certificate `Investor in People.` The standard recognizes the company’s involvement in the training and improvement of the personnel’s qualification. The UK ambassador of Investors in People Maureen Rooney officially awarded the certificate to the Bulgarian manager of TNT Ivan Vassilev at a special press conference on October 30. ` I am extremely pleased that the Bulgarian branch of TNT makes efforts to motivate its employees. TNT is a brilliant example of a company that became more efficient because of that motivation,’ Rooney said. `More than 24,000 organisations are currently recognised as ‘Investors in People’ and over 24% of the UK workforce are now working with the Standard,` she added. `We are ready to foster change not in our own company but in the entire Bulgarian economy, being inseparable part of it,’ Barry Sheldon, TNT operative manager for Europe, America and the Near East said. Tim Venner, the Director of Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance also officially awarded TNT Bulgaria with the certificate ISO 9001:2000 for quality and efficiency of the management at the same press conference. `While the two standards were being introduced in the company, the turnover of the TNT Bulgaria increased with 16.1%, the employees’ turnover went down from 9% to 1.8% and the quality of company’s services increased from 95% to 97%,` the manager of TNT Bulgaria Ivan Vassilev commented on the tangible results from the standards introduction. On behalf of the Bulgarian Government, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Milen Keremedchiev congratulated TNT Bulgaria for the company`s well done job.
