6 Shot Dead in Haitian Capital Rally

At least six people were killed, including a journalist, and 26 more were wounded when gunmen opened fire on an opposition rally near the presidential palace in Haiti's capital, international agencies announced. One US journalist suffered gunshot wounds and 18 others were reported wounded in the shooting, while another journalist who worked for Spanish television channel Antena 3, Ricardo Ortega, died after being shot, Spanish television sources said. Aristide left Haiti one week ago, after months of opposition demonstrations and an armed rebellion, which began taking major cities on February 5.
