"The new Bulgarian visas are among the best protected against counterfeiting," Solomon Passy, Bulgarian Foreign Minister, said at a press conference on the new visas on October 26. “The new visas will cost BGN 1 or 2 more than the old ones,” Lyubomir Todorov, Director of the Foreign Ministry's Consular Relations Directorate, said. The prices of Bulgarian visas currently range between USD 20 and 100. The trial introduction of the new visas has already started at the Bulgarian embassies in Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. The Foreign Minister expressed the hope that the new visas with integrated photo will be introduced in January 2002.
