Italy Parcel Bomb Injures Three

Police officials in Perugia, about 130 kilometers (about 80 miles) north of Rome, said a parcel exploded on Friday, causing some injuries. The Italian news agency Apcom said three policemen were injured and taken to a local hospital, although it appeared that two of them did not have serious injuries. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bomb Italy. Italy has seen a series of letter and parcel bombs in the past months, mainly blamed on or claimed by anarchists. Some letter bombs sent from Italy have targeted EU Commission President Romano Prodi and other EU officials.
