The trial of 13 suspects charged with the assassination of reformist Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, shot dead last March, will resume before a special court in Belgrade on Monday, with the suspected mastermind still at large. The long-awaited trial before a newly established court tasked with hearing cases related to organised crime began on December 22, but was adjourned by a presiding judge over still unspecified legal incoherencies. Djindjic's murder shook the country and hastened the disintegration of the moderate alliance, which had ruled Serbia since former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic was toppled from power in 2000.
