Bulgaria's N-plant Unit 5 Switched Off Grid over Water Parameters

Unit five at Bulgaria's nuclear power plant Kozloduy, 200 kilometres north of Sofia, was switched off the energy grid February 3 after deviation from the parameters of water in the second (nonradioactive) circuit was detected.

No changes in the radiation situation were detected.

The failure did not threaten the safety in the area as the event was rated 0 on the INES scale of atomic events.
