Hundreds of BBC employees staged protests at the resignation of the British Broadcasting Corporation's director general Greg Dyke in wake of Lord Hutton's damning verdict. Some 400 staff took part in the protest at BBC headquarters in London in what was described as unprecedented scenes of spontaneous support. They were joined by their colleagues in regional BBC offices in Cardiff, Manchester, Belfast and Glasgow. Dyke's decision to step down came on the heels of BBC chairman Gavyn Davies' resignation on Wednesday, shortly after the law lord's report was published.
