A U.S. congressional delegation has arrived in Libya to begin a landmark visit. Representative Curt Weldon who is a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee said that the American military plane which transported the delegation to Tripoli was the first to land on Libyan soil since Moammar Gadhafi seized power in 1969. During their 30 hour visit the group is expected to visit nuclear installations, as well as meeting the Libyan leader. This is seen as a further step towards the possible normalisation of relations between Libya and the United States. On Monday the delegation travels on to Afghanistan and Iraq.
