In the Mexican city of Monterrey leaders are gathering for the Summit of the Americas due to open on Monday, world media reported. The two-day summit will concentrate on trade, immigration and terrorism. In a US television interview on Sunday, Mexican President Vicente said that he wanted to work towards the free movement of workers between Canada, the United States and Mexico. The United States wants the summit to reaffirm a 2005 deadline for completing talks on a Free Trade Area of the Americas, a proposal objected by certain Latin American countries like Brazil and Venezuela. The Organisation of the American States comprises 34 member countries.
