Army and police divers recovered 34 more bodies from a canal, raising the death toll in one of Pakistan's worst bus crashes to 62, state television said. Rescue teams found 28 bodies late Thursday after the overloaded passenger bus plunged into the Thal canal near the central Pakistani town of Bhakkar, police said on Friday. The bus travelling from Bhakkar to nearby Goharwala in Punjab province fell into the canal after its front axle broke. The bus was carrying more than 60 passengers. A three-day mourning period has been declared in the area to mark what the officials described as "very big tragedy."
