India's Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf are holding their first meeting in more than two years, marking an improvement in relations between the two countries. They almost went to war in 2002, and tensions between the two rivals have been high ever since. The talks are taking place in Islamabad, where Pakistan is hosting a summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC).
