Indian Lawyers to Defend Saddam

A team of 11 lawyers from different countries would defend ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, captured a week ago, during the upcoming trial, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party chairman Bhim Singh said on Saturday. Prominent lawyers from India have initiated the establishment of Saddam's International Defence Committee trying to involve also lawyers from Russia, Egypt, Syria, India and some western countries. A meeting of those lawyers is likely to take place in the first week of January in New Delhi to work out the strategy, Indian media say.
