Car Explodes Near Synagogue in Italy

A car exploded near a synagogue in the northern Italian city of Modena on Thursday morning when the man inside set himself on fire in an apparent suicide, police reported. Later in the day it was announced that the incident was not a terrorist attack but the police are still investigating into the case. The man, who was from Jordan, set himself on fire. When police approached to put out the flames, the car, which ran on flammable liquid propane gas, exploded, police said.
