Defense lawyers for the Moroccan Abdelghani Mzoudi who is on trial in Germany for assisting the terrorists in the September 11 suicide attacks against the US World Trade Centre demanded his release on Thursday. The judge Klaus Ruehle had previously made a statement that the court had new evidence which might discharge him. Ruehle asked the defense to apply for the release of Mzoudi since in November he received evidence that only suicide pilots Mohamed Atta, Marwan al Shehi and Ziad Jarrah as well as Ramzi bin al-Shaibah, an al Qaeda leader in US custody, comprised the Hamburg group.
