Strong Earthquake Measured Off Russian Peninsula

A strong earthquake was registered in the Pacific Ocean near the Russian Kamchatka Peninsula. No damage or injuries were reported. The quake measured 7.1 on the Richter scale and was centred some 620km south of the regional capital of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka. Its epicentre was 18 miles underground.
