Georgian Opposition Unites for Upcoming Elections

Georgia's main opposition parties named Mikhail Saakashvili as their only candidate to replace ousted President Eduard Shevardnadze. The information came from acting President Nino Burjanadze. A day earlier the parliament set January 4 as the date of the elections. Shevardnadze resigned some two days ago after weeks of protests against flawed parliamentary elections.
