Croatia's PM Concedes Victory to Nationalists in Election

Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan, heading the incumbent center-left coalition, conceded that nationalists won the weekend's legislative elections. With about 90 percent of votes counted, the opposition nationalist Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and its two probable coalition allies were forecast to win 75 out of 140 freely contested seats in parliament, compared to 63 for the outgoing moderate coalition.
