Jackson Freed on USD 3 M Bail

Pop star Michael Jackson has been released on a USD 3 M bail after being formally charged with child molestation. Jackson then flied to Las Vegas, and was mobbed by fans on his return. He drove from the airport to his hotel, and shook hands with fans while his vehicle was stuck in traffic. Some 40 fans had gathered outside the Green Valley Ranch hotel-casino in Henderson to welcome the star, with some carrying placards saying "100% innocent". The singer's lawyer Mark Geragos dismissed the charges as "a big lie" and said that Jackson looked forward to appearing in court. Jackson had to hand over his passport, and have his fingerprints and photograph taken. He co-operated fully, a police spokesman said.
