Explosions Killed 40 in Baghdad

Some 40 people have been killed in Iraq's capital Baghdad as a series of explosions rocked the city on Monday. First, an ambulance exploded in central Baghdad as the vehicle entered the gates of a building used by the International Committee of the Red Cross, witnesses said. About 15 minutes later another blast exploded in an northern Baghdad district, at a building that, according to local people, was a police station. At least two other bombs are reported to have gone off in the city with other police stations being the target.
