The Kozluduy Nuclear Plant civic committee visited the N-plant for a working meeting that took place there on October 13. Outstanding Bulgarian scholars and intellectuals, including history professors Georgi Bakalov, Georgi Markov, Stefan Vodenicharov, heart surgeon Alexander Chirkov and author Marko Semov are members of the civic committee. The members of the committee informed the plant management and experts for the committee`s mission and ideas for the national nuclear power industry protection. The members of the civic committee for the Kozluduy Nuclear Power Plant believe that public opinion may and should play a very important role for the national consensus on the future of the Bulgarian nuclear energy industry. `The economic situation in Bulgaria calls for the support of the whole society to preserve the existing nuclear facilities at Kozluduy, especially after they have proven their safety and security,` the Kozluduy press office announced.
