UN MARKED BULGARIAN ARTIST ANNIVERSARY

The United Nations and UNESCO marked the centennial anniversary of the Bulgarian cartoonist and illustrator Iliya Beshkov (1901-1958). Beshkov`s works were exhibited in New York, Tel Aviv, Paris, London and Rome. So far, only the 1300th anniversary of the Bulgarian state has been marked by the UN in such a solemn way. The United Nations declared Beshkov `Philosopher of the 20th century`. The Bulgarian artist was recognized as `the Personality of UNESCO`. It all began in 1995 when Boutros Boutros-Ghali familiarized himself with Beshkov`s political prophecies. A number of researchers have reason to believe that if Beshkov was not a Bulgarian but a British philosopher like Clive Staple Lewis, for example, all that he had to say would have been known all over the world, his words would have been translated in all languages on the earth, his maxims would have been more popular than those of Bernard Show, and his original theories would have been quoted more often than Murphy`s laws. `Iliya Beshkov is a talented and colorful graphic artist that we have been waiting to appear for so long,` `The Herald Telegram` wrote.
