Latvia is celebrating voting "Yes " to joining the European Union and sealing the success of the bloc's plans to welcome 10 more nations, mostly ex-Soviet states, into the fold next May. Final official results announced by the election commission showed Latvians had voted overwhelmingly to join the bloc, with 67 percent voting Yes and 32.3 percent saying No, after votes from all 1,006 polling stations were counted. 0.7 percent of the votes cast were declared invalid.
