BULGARIAN PRESIDENT ATTENDS FORUM IN GENEVE

Bulgarian President Petur Stoyanov left on October 10, on a 24-hour working visit to Geneve. He attends there a meeting of the Policy Advisory Commission (PAC) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO.) Stoyanov joined the PAC last year at the personal invitation of WIPO Director General Kamil Idris. Stoyanov is the only East European member of the Commission. 25 eminent individuals from the world of politics, diplomacy, law and public administration advise the Director General on international policy issues, concerning intellectual property aimed at wealth creation, cultural development and social progress. WIPO held its International Conference on Intellectual Property, Internet, E-Commerce and Traditional Knowledge in Bulgaria between May 29 and 31, 2001. Stoyanov provided the idea and patronage for this conference, the first of its kind to be hosted by an East European country.
