The Arab television station al-Jazeera has broadcast what it says is an audiotape of Saddam Hussein, denying involvement in the killing of a senior Shia cleric. Ayatollah Muhammad Baqr al-Hakim was among nearly 100 people who died in a massive car bomb blast in the holy city of Najaf last Friday. "The infidel invaders are accusing, without proof, the followers of Saddam Hussein after the killing of Shia leader al-Hakim," the voice on the tape said. "This is not what Saddam attributes to himself." The message came as tens of thousands of Iraqi Shia Muslims continued a funeral procession to honour the revered cleric.
