Bulgaria's Nuke Unit Six Switched Off for Big-Scale Repairs

The 1,000 MW Unit Six at Bulgaria's nuclear power plant Kozloduy will be switched off the energy grid Monday for annual repair works and fuel recharge.

During the repairs, 30 measures of the unit's modernisation program will be realized together with improvements to the investment program. The operations of the unit will be suspended for three months.

The repairs programs costs BGN 300 M, Kozloduy's Executive Director Yordan Kostadinov said. Bulgarian companies will be involved in almost all activities as contractors or subcontractors.

The annual repairs of nuke Units Four and Five that have already been carried out lasted a few days.
