Israeli troops have killed a Palestinian militant leader who was holed up in a house in the West Bank city of Hebron. The militant was named as Mohammed Seder, the local head of Islamic Jihad's armed wing. After surrounding the building, a gunbattle ensued in which Mr Seder has been killed, witnesses said. A senior Islamic Jihad official told the AFP news agency that Mr Sider was killed in the attack and vowed to avenge his death. "This is a major crime and the Israeli army will pay the price for it in its soldiers and settlers," a senior Islamic Jihad official told the AFP news agency.
