During the seventh meeting of the EU-Bulgaria Association Committee, representatives of the Bulgarian administration and officials of the delegation of the European Commission discussed Bulgaria`s pre-accession strategy. The Head of the Bulgarian Department in the Enlargement Directorate of the European Commission Morgen Jung Olsen described as very successful the talks he held with Meglena Kouneva, Bulgaria`s Chief Negotiator with the EU. The officials also discussed Bulgaria`s economic development and the completion of the of the reforms. Olsen added that Bulgaria has made much progress along the way to EU membership but more needs to be made. `Bulgaria should focus more attention on the integration of the Roma,` the EC official said. Other priorities include prevention of and fighting corruption and changes in the judiciary system. The participants in the meeting also talked on the need for higher nuclear safety.
