SOFIA MAYOR: POLITICAL PRESSURE ON HEALTH FUND

`The attacks against the National Health Insurance Fund are an example for political pressure,` Sofia Mayor Stefan Sofianski said, quoted by Dnevnik Daily. Sofianski serves as Chairman of the management body of the fund. He added that he will not give in to pressure or accept Boiko Penkov` s resignation, the Fund`s head. The Parliamentary Health Committee constantly attacked the National Health Insurance Fund for the last two months. The members of the Committee insistes that hospital financing, covered by the Fund, should be increased and the list of free medicines reduced.
