A bomb ripped through a car park at Santander airport in northern Spain Monday. The blast didn't hurt any people but destroyed a number of vehicles. A warning call purporting to be from the Basque separatist group ETA allowed time to evacuate the area on Sunday afternoon. The attack on the popular holiday destination comes five days after ETA bombings in the seaside resorts of Alicante and Benidorm. "Once again, ETA... has tried to sow terror," Spanish Interior Minister Angel Acebes said after arriving at the airport to survey the damage. ETA has been blamed for the deaths of about 800 people in a violent campaign for independence for the Basque region, now into its 35th year.
