The US may consider sending a small a small number of American personnel to join the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping force in Liberia, US President George Bush said after meeting UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. That was Bush and Annan's first meeting since the United States failed to get UN backing for the invasion of Iraq. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced in Liberia since fighting broke out between government troops and rebels, and aid agencies have warned of a humanitarian crisis.
