Italy's Tourism Minister Offers Resignation over Insult

The Italian tourism minister, Stefano Stefani, has offered to resign from the Italian government after coming under fire for comments he made about German tourists. Stefani had described Germans as loud hyper-nationalistic blondes and arrogant beer guzzlers. His comments made German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder to call for Stefani to be fired and cancel his own holidays in Italy.
