Tens of friends and government officials, led by the head of the State Welfare Organization Mohammad Reza Rahchamani, were at Tehran airport Thursdayas the coffins of formerly conjoined twins arrived in Iran for burial. The 29-year-old sisters, who were joined at the head, died in hospital in Singapore within 90 minutes of each other, after losing a large amount of blood in the final stages of the operation. Their deaths caused grief around the world but particularly in Iran, the twins' homeland. The twins are to be buried Friday in Lohrasb, the southwestern village in which they were born.
