Unit 3 of Bulgaria's only nuclear power plant Kozloduy quit operations Thursday for repair works and reloading, N-plant spokesman said Thursday.

The repair is part of the 2003 schedule and is expected to continue until end-August. Eighteen particular improvements of the unit's equipment will be done over the period.

The technical upgrading aims to increase the safety of the unit's work, spokesman said.
