Israel Accused of Hampering Truce Talks

The killing of a Hamas leader has led to accusations from Palestinian officials that Israel is undermining their efforts to secure a peace deal with extremist militants. Cabinet minister Yasser Abed Rabbo was speaking after Israeli forces shot dead a senior leader of the Islamic militant group Hamas in the West Bank. Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas has held talks with militants to persuade them to agree a ceasefire against Israelis as required by the international peace plan for the Middle East.
