Nearly BGN 100 M has been invested in upgrading Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant in 2002, the plant announced Thursday.

Over BGN 94 M of it has been provided by the plant for increasing nuclear safety and radiation protection.

A day earlier President Parvanov said that Bulgaria will recognize the results of the peer review of Nuclear power plant Kozloduy Units 3 and 4, provided that it is conducted timely and professionally.

The government has agreed to close the two 440-megawatt units by 2006 under pressure from the European Union.
