U.S. forces in Iraq have captured Gen. Abid Hamid Mahmud al-Tikriti, Pentagon officials said. Mahmud served as Saddam Hussein's personal secretary, national security adviser and senior bodyguard, according to the Pentagon. Mahmud is the ace of diamonds in the U.S. military's deck of 55 most wanted Iraqis, and number four on the list behind Saddam and his two sons Uday and Qusay. Pentagon officials said they had no details on the capture or surrender except that it apparently occurred in the past 24 to 48 hours.
