Seif al-Islam, head of the Qaddafi International Foundation for Charity Associations and son of the Libyan leader, will observe the trial against the Bulgarian medics, charged in intentionally infecting Libyan children with the HIV virus, Info Radio reported. According to him it is unlikely that the Bulgarians were tortured in prison. Two of the imprisoned nurses complained about the tortures in Court. In case that there are such, though, the Libyan leader`s son promised that they will not repeat. Islam played a key role last year when Libya successfully brokered the release of Western hostages kidnapped in the Philippines and Bulgarian officials say they believe he has experience in dealing with humanitarian crises.
