ISRAELI BILLIONAIRE TO INVEST IN PLOVDIV AIRPORT

Israeli billionaire Sasson Naim who is among the world 30 top rich men, is ready to invest $2 billion in the reconstruction of the Plovdiv-based airport, Standart Daily reported. A project on the reconstruction of the airport to turn it into the most modern airport in the Balkans, had already been drawn, said Plovdiv`s Mayor Dr Ivan Tchomakov. He has been negotiating for a year now with one of the firms owned by Sasson - Dora International - on the joint project, envisaging the Israeli company, the municipality and some more investors to become shareholders in the airport. German company Lufthanza also showed interest in the airport. The reconstruction envisages constructing a cargo airport and extensions of the runways.
