Serbia Lifted 42-day State of Emergency

Serbia yesterday lifted its 42-day state of emergency, declared after the assassination of the former prime minister Zoran Djindjic last month. Zoran Zivkovic, Mr Djindjic's successor, said the government would press on with its crackdown on organised crime, launched by the police following the murder outside government buildings in Belgrade.
