Nigeria's Democratic Party Leads

The first civilian-run elections partial results give President Olusegun Obasanjo's People's Democratic Party (PDP) a good start. On Monday, 124 of the House of Representatives seats had been declared, with the PDP winning 69 of them. PDP had won 22 of the 33 seats in the Senate, announced so far. At least ten people were reported killed in violence related to the voting, but elections observers said the violence was not as bad as they had feared.
