EX MINISTER: MAFIA IN THE PARLIAMENT AND CABINET

Politics | September 21, 2001, Friday // 00:00

The former Finance Minister Muravey Radev accused the current government in connections with the mafia in an interview for Info Radio. According to him insurance groups like SIC, VIS and the Varna TIM, have financed the recent election mafia campaign. `This is not my view for the new moral in the Bulgarian politics,` Radev said. The Mafia has representatives in the Parliament and the government according to the former Finance Minister. That shows from the ungrounded changes of people at high positions that take place. `That will take us back to the time of the former Prime Minister Berov when the mafia ruled,` Radev also said. `Most of the politicians do not know what they do. However, part of them know what the results from their actions will be and they should be isolated from the government,` Radev stated.
