Snow storms and freezing gales are hampering efforts to retrieve bodies and search for clues at the site of Iran's worst air crash. Grieving relatives have been gathering near to where the Russian-built Ilyushin plane crashed into a mountain near Kerman in south-east Iran on Wednesday night, killing all 302 people on board. All 284 passengers were members of the elite Republican Guards. Bad weather has been blamed for the accident. Search teams have recovered debris and mutilated bodies from the crash site, about 3,500 metres (11,500 feet) above ground and close to the mountain summit.
