Bulgaria: Vietnam Wants to Send 120,000 People to Work in "Big Markets" like Bulgaria

In 2019, Vietnam aims to send 120,000 Vietnamese to work abroad, targeting markets such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Romania and Bulgaria, according to the Vietnamese news agency VIA, quoted by BTA.

In the words of the Deputy Director of the Department for Work Abroad, Nguyen Liem, at the Ministry of Labor on the issues of the disabled from the war and social care, many East European countries are interested in Vietnamese workers. Together with traditional markets, hundreds of thousands of jobs are available to Vietnamese in Europe thanks to labor cooperation agreements signed in late 2018.

For example, Bulgaria needs 50,000 Vietnamese workers in construction, clothing and textiles, hi-tech agriculture and medical services, Liem says.

The number of Vietnamese workers abroad increased to 142,860 in 2018, which is about 30 percent more than the annual target. According to data from the Department for Work Abroad, 2018 was the fifth consecutive year when the number of Vietnamese workers sent abroad exceeded 100,000.

Japan has remained the largest foreign labor market for the Vietnamese, employing 68,737 workers, followed by Taiwan - 60,369 workers, and South Korea - 6538 workers.
