In the worst case scenario, business losses caused by Brexit will amount to 58 billion pounds, with sectors such as "automotive", "agriculture" and "food industry" expected to be the most affected. This is what Eva Maydell, MEP and President of the European International Movement, said at a conference on "Prepare for Brexit - Implications for European Business".

Nearly 30% of the Bulgarian business expects negatives from Brexit because of their fears of possible trade restrictions, administrative procedures and new regulatory requirements. Their fears are largely due to the vagueness of what type of relationship the UK will seek to do with the EU, said Maydell. She expressed confidence that if they had timely information, Bulgarian business circles would be able to make the necessary changes in their business planning.

Overall, Brexit may adversely affect people and businesses to a varying extent, according to the outcome of the talks, and none of the scenarios can replace the benefits of Britain's membership of the EU, Eva Maydell said.

"We must bear in mind all these consequences because Brexit creates insecurity and instability for many people and sectors," Barnier said. "I voted for Britain's accession to the Community and I never regret it because I think the union is making the strength," said EU chief negotiator for the leaving Britain, Michel Barnier. He regretted Britain's decision to leave the EU.

"We respect this vote because it is democratic, but we want to point out objectively that the UK chose to accept the consequences of this withdrawal, not the citizens and businesses in Europe," the EU Chief Negotiator said on the leaving of Britain.

He pointed out in a commentary on the future of the European Union that if the EU members do not stay together, they will be "so-called subcontractors of all influences from China and America."

"We will have another kind of cooperation with the UK, but we, the 27, need one another, beyond Brexit, to increase total investment, improve overall security, and this is much more important than Brexit," Barnier said.

"We can not negotiate on the single market, there will not be a single market for them and the four freedoms, including freedom of movement," he said, adding the benefits of united Europe, Barnier, and was categorical - "we will not make the Union more fragile because they are leaving".

At the same time, Barnier stressed that new partnerships and lasting ties had to be considered under the new conditions and pointed out that 750 international agreements would be interrupted and the UK would have to renegotiate again.

"We have reached agreement on the security of the rights of EU citizens, including 80,000 Bulgarians for the right of settlement, retirement, social security, social protection," Barnier said.

He also touched on the subject of defense and security, noting that the UK will continue to participate in ensuring the fight against terrorism.

Deputy Chairman of the CEIBG Boryana Manolova said that Bulgaria will feel the echo of the separation with Great Britain, which is among the biggest trading partners of our country. Despite the relatively small share of our exports, we will have difficulties introducing customs duties, increased border controls and additional administrative burdens and regulations.

The chairman of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, Iravan Hira, said the business believes it could become stronger after Brexit and expressed hope that after 2020 on January 1 there will be agreements, both commercial and economic, social and political .
